If you want the smoothest and purest cup of black coffee, then the pour-over method is the way to go in my opinion. Its slow and precise process extracts the coffee’s full flavor and aroma.
The type of coffee roast you choose also affects the taste. There are three types of coffee roasts- light, medium, and dark. Light roasts have a fruity and acidic flavor, medium roasts have a balanced flavor with hints of caramel, and dark roasts have a bold and rich flavor.

Freshly Ground Coffee Beans:
It’s always better to grind your coffee beans just before brewing. This ensures maximum freshness and flavor. Pre-ground coffee beans lose their aroma and flavor quickly.
Invest in a burr grinder to grind your coffee beans to a consistent grind size, ensuring an even extraction. They are budget-friendly for most.

Like I said, this is a simple and unscientific method, my friend.

Pour more of the water in the dripper, starting from the outside edge and going in a circular motion toward the middle. Stop when the dripper is getting full, and wait for the coffee to drip through to the cup.
One more pour should use up the remaining water. The entire pour over process will take about 3 minutes.
And yes, it’s a bit of a ritual once you get the hang of it. I really enjoy the process, and somehow it makes the coffee taste that much better!
